This half hour interpretative program – part dramatic, part documentary – portrayed the eccentric life and extraordinary work of renowned Gulf coast artist Walter Anderson. The film premiered on Mississippi Educational Television in 1977. The idea came from a visit to the Anderson compound in Ocean Springs. M. Jane Puryear and I developed the proposal and script outline. I was slated to direct the film (it would have been my first national production) when I accepted a position with PBS in Washington.
