Even ‘Smart Weapons’ need a human touch. – New York Times

Killing MachinesThis one-hour NOVA science documentary examined the development of “smart weapons.”  Filmed after the invasion of Kuwait by Iraq in 1990, but, before the Persian Gulf War in early 1991, this program looked at the smart weapons of the United States fighting forces. Their potential is examined and their use in simulated battles in the Mohave Desert, California is evaluated. Crew of the U.S. fleet in the Northern Arabian Sea and U.S.soldiers in Saudi Arabia are interviewed about their weapons.
